Day 5: Where is the coolest place you’ve ever traveled to?

Growing up a fastpitch softball player I was able to travel all over the country to play ball, and I went to some pretty awesome places. I played in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Chattanooga and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, Kansas City, Missouri, Boise, Idaho, and Surrey, B.C., just to name a few. Come on? Who wouldn’t want to go to all those fantastic destinations? J As wonderful and amazing as each of those cities were for a teenager playing softball, my adult life traveling has been much more exciting. The coolest place by far has been the Bahamas.

For our honeymoon Michael and I were lucky enough to stay at the Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort in Nassau. The best way to describe it was GEORGOUS! The all inclusive resort was like a miniature city within itself. While there we snorkeled, took a boat to the private island only accessible by resort patrons, had a 5 course dinner on the beach at sunset, and spent our days soaking up some sun while drinking tropical drinks and relaxing by the 3 pools.

One day we also hopped onto a city bus and ventured out to the regular city. We spent a day at one of the local markets and walked around downtown, took an excursion to swim with some dolphins, and stuck our head in a few of the Caribbean jewelry stores. Michael made sure to ask a few locals about Anna Nicole Smith (Good lord that boy loves tabloid gossip way too much), and gave me a few lessons on market bartering. It was really cool to be able to see life outside the resort walls.

Overall our trip was amazing. We came home tan and happy. We had such a good time and promised each other as soon as we had the opportunity we would we take another trip south and let our toes once again touch the waters of the Caribbean Sea.
